DAY 1: SKOURA VIA TIZ-N-TICHKA, AIT BEN HADDOU & OUARZAZATE

Depart Marrakech for Skoura via Ouarzazate and drive through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi –n-Tichka pass and experience some of the most amazing mountain views of Morocco before arriving at Ouarzazate, home of Morocco’s ’Hollywood’ movie Industry take time to visit the movie studios and see where films such as Gladiator and the Mummy. 

Explore the city and visit Kasbah Taourirt, once one of the largest Kasbahs in the area, and once home to members of the Glaoui Dynasty, who ruled the vicinity. 

Parts of this Kasbah have been carefully restored by UNESCO and it is probably the main sightseeing venue of Ouarzazate From Ouarzazate travel through the beautiful Valley of the Roses and La Palmarie Skoura your destination for the night.

DAY 2: DADES MONKEY FINGERS TREKKING

Participate today in a canyon walk of about 6 hours which sets off at the foot of the Dades Gorge, climbing up through a series of spectacular canyons to high plateaus, where you can admire superb views of the valley. 

This is considered one of the most spectacular walks in the region. We can also arrange treks with nomads; Barbeque picnics; mountain biking; and even a donkey for the children to ride!

DAY 3: MERZOUGA VIA TODRA GORGES, TINGHIR & ERFOUD

Depart Skoura for Merzouga. Your first stop is at the Todra Gorges, one of the highlights of the South. This massive fault in the plateau divides the High Atlas from the Jebel Sarhro. 

The crystal clear river emerging from the deep ochre and pink rock formations offers a dramatic landscape and great photographic opportunities. A lovely place to relax, enjoy, and reflect on the surrounding beauty. 

Then it is onto Tinghir where you will have a short guided tour to give you an overview of the ancient Berber culture and heritage that exist in the region. The city of Tinghir is known for being one of the most beautiful oases in Southern Morocco, boasting canyons up to 300m high. The scenery here is truly breathtaking.

Arrive to Merzouga, the starting edge of the Sahara Desert, and your base for the night.

DAY 4: SAHARA DESERT SUNSET CAMEL RIDING

Explore this morning the region of the Sahara Desert and its surroundings or Choose to include the following:

  • 1. Hike The Sand Dunes

Traveling in the desert is not for the faint of heart. Each visitor to the Erg Chebbi region of Morocco should make the trek up the dunes at least once during their stay. A huge sand dunes area is located in southern Merzouga. It looks like a gigantic sand mound from below.

  • 2. Take a joyride on a 4X4 wheeler

Camel rides may be the most iconic part of a desert holiday, but there’s plenty more to see and do in the great outdoors. Those who have visited Morocco before on vacation know that 4×4 trips are an integral part of the experience. Erg Chebbi is well worth the money. First, it’s a great chance to find out for yourself just how exciting a ride on the sand can be. Second, explorers can learn more about the terrain through off-roading. In addition, it’s a great opportunity to learn about the history, beliefs, and customs of the people who live in this stunning region.

  • 3.Quad Biking and off-roading

Exciting options for off-roading and quad biking await adventurers in Merzouga. Quad Biking and Off-Roading are two extreme sports that are very popular in Morocco. Travel the sand dunes and rugged landscapes of the desert to discover uncharted territory.

In the afternoon, with some of the dunes in this area rising to over 245 meters, the colors of the rising and setting sun over these dunes make for a truly magical experience. 

Here your driver will introduce you to your nomad guide for your Nomadic camel excursion.  Your guide will take you into the desert, approximately a 1 – 2 hour ride by camel. When you reach your bivouac you can relax, climb the dunes, or just star-gaze while your guide prepares your evening meal and sets up your campfire for you.

DAY 5: WELCOME TO FES, 1200 YEARS CITY VIA MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS

Rise early in the morning to see the amazing sunrise over the dunes, and have breakfast before your continuous journey to Fes.

Travel through the Ziz Valley and view the Efous oasis which offers amazing photographic opportunities before reaching the beautiful Midelt. We recommend for lunch stopping for a Moroccan BBQ at Zaida, close to Midelt __ you can take the lead from your driver.

Experience spectacular views of cedar forests; visit the Barbary Apes at Ifrane, Morocco’s ‘Switzerland’ before arriving in Fes, where you will be taken to your accommodation.
